A light emitting diode can be made from special compounds of gallium. example- gallium arsenide.

Different compound use to get various colors Ex:-  GaAs (gallium arsenide) > infared
GaAsP (gallium arsenide phosphide) > Red, gallium(III) phosphide > green,
InGaN (Indium gallium nitride) > Blue
