Spontaneous emission: When the electron jumps from higher energy state to lower energy state on its own accord, the emission is known as spontaneous emission.

Stimulated emission: When the electron jumps from higher energy state to lower energy state by triggering, (supplying external energy) the emission is known as stimulated emission.
