i) Cycle :- A complete set of variation in an alternating quantity, which is repeated at regular interval of time, is called a cycle.
A complete set of positive and negative values of an alternating quantity, which is repeated at regular interval of time, is called a cycle.
ii) Frequency :- Number of cycles completed by an alternating quantity in one second is called as frequency. It’s unit is cycles/second or hertz.
iii) Period :- The time taken by an alternating quantity to complete one cycle is called its time period or period. It’s unit is second.
iv) Amplitude :- A maximum value or peak value attained by an alternating quantity during positive or negative half cycle is called as its amplitude.
