Hot rolled grain oriented steel
Cold rolled grain oriented steel
Grain orientation is obtained by hot rolling to obtain soft steel to facilitates machining process.
Grain orientation is obtained by cold rolling so facilitates easy flux passing so that less magnetising force is required.
Magnetising current required is slightly more. 
Magnetising current required is less.
Used in instrument core etc.
Used in Transformer core, Machine cores etc.
Less cost
More cost
